About Me

I was born and live in Geelong, Victoria. A small quiet town that is close to many beautiful beaches and only hour away from the city of Melbourne. Living here enables me to spend a lot of my time doing what I enjoy most, such as walking, dancing, taking photos, drawing, painting and writing. All of these activities are what give me the inspiration to write and illustrate for children.

Since a child I have always loved to draw and paint. I was fascinated by the illustrations in picture books, and in my primary school years had already made up my mind that I was going to write and illustrate children's books as an adult.

In 1994 I graduated from the Melbourne School of Art in Elsternwick, Victoria. Since graduating I have worked as a freelance illustrator, designing a variety of products such as greeting cards, bed linen, games, paper tole, growth charts, logos and even wall murals. I have also worked as a cultural artist for The City of Greater Geelong Children's Services and ran my own small business of photo restoration.

I love to write and illustrate stories, mostly about animals, thus giving them human characteristics. The ideas for my stories are based on my own passions and memories.
